I wrote this article, with some corrections or revisions, when I was still on the second year college for a challenge by my professor to write an economic essay that, if satisfies him, would become my semi-final grade for Economics 2. It is no doubt the industrial sector, particularly those businesses within the sin industries (industries that offer goods that would satisfy negative habits like cigarettes and alcohols), is one of the major contributors of economic development. Its maintained growth is a valid indication of the Filipino's tolerance to vices and of the businesses' willingness to produce more.
So is it really a big business?
Yes, in fact the government, through the efforts of the late President Corazon Aquino on an Executive Order, have spent a lot in research and scholarships to prosper the sin industries.
